Child care worker accused of force-feeding baby

OAK PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A suburban child care worker has been arrested and accused of hurting a baby in her care.

Police say Karelia Montenegro was charged after surveillance video appeared to show her force-feeding the 8-month-old child in Oak Park.

The baby was taken to the emergency room after staff noticed swelling around the neck area.

The baby had surgery to repair a tear in the esophagus and is expected to recover.
