SAN DIEGO -- A Fullerton couple has vanished without a trace after leaving the Valley View Casino in San Diego County on Mother's Day.

Cecil Knutson, 79, and Dianna Bedwell, 68, were seen on surveillance video leaving the casino around 2 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said the couple planned on going to their son's home in La Quinta in Riverside County to celebrate Mother's Day.

The couple never arrived nor have they been seen at their home in Fullerton. Knutson and Bedwell were in a white 2014 Hyundai Sonata with the California license plate number 7EHE981.

Bedwell's phone was shut off almost immediately after leaving. Knutson's phone was shut off minutes after on Highway 15 at Deer Springs Road.

"My mom doesn't turn her phone off. My dad doesn't turn his phone off. They don't call me without saying, 'Hey we're on our way. We're leaving the casino now.' The fact that they didn't do that is an issue for us," said Robert Acosta, the couple's son.

Knutson is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds. He has green eyes and gray hair. Bedwell is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities cannot say if foul play was involved or if the couple was involved in a car accident. Their family members are worried because the couple suffer from diabetes and are in need of medication.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or contact the San Diego County Sheriff's Department at (858) 565-5200 with the missing person's case number #15123657.
