CHICAGO (WLS) -- A judge will soon rule on whether to allow cameras in the trial of a Chicago police commander accused of shoving a gun in a suspect's mouth and threatening to kill him.

An attorney for Commander Glenn Evans argues cameras or audio equipment might identify undercover officers who testify, which could put their lives in danger.

Evans is charged with battery and official misconduct. He was indicted in September 2014.

The judge says she will announce her decision on July 29.
