Man charged in murder of 8-year-old girl in Olney, Ill.

OLNEY, Ill. (WLS) -- A 53-year-old man has been charged in the death of an 8-year-old girl in the downstate town of Olney, Illinois State Police said Sunday.

The body of Sabrina Stauffenberg was found on the south side of Olney on Wednesday, police said. After collaborating with several local police departments, Illinois State Police said that Glen Ramey of Olney was arrested Sunday at 2:21 a.m.

Ramey has been charged with first degree murder and predatory sexual assault in connection with Stauffenberg's death, police said. Ramey is being held at the Richland County Jail pending formal arraignment.
