Man found in Lake Michigan near submerged car ID'd

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Crews were called to Lake Michigan after a car was found submerged in the water at the 31st Street boat ramp around 2:15 p.m. on December 14, 2015.

The body of a 58-year-old man was found in the water nearby. Officials said he was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The victim was identified as Mark Grabowski, of the 4400-block of North Knox Avenue, the Cook County medical examiner's office said Tuesday.

Chicago police said the car and body may have been in the water for up to four hours. A death investigation is underway.
