New Trier students arrested for alleged connection with sexting scandal

WINNETKA, Ill. (WLS) -- Police have arrested a dozen teenagers in connection with a sexting scandal at a north suburban high school.

The group of 15- and 16-year-olds from New Trier High School in Winnetka allegedly traded or shared nude images of minors with other classmates.

The students were arrested last week.

School officials alerted police after learning of the incidents and sent a letter out to parents letting them know that they're investigating the matter.
