Pizza truck stolen from South Side, abandoned in Waukegan

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are looking for a man who stole a pizza truck from Papa T's in the Marquette Park neighborhood Saturday afternoon, and then abandoned it north suburban Waukegan, officials said.

Police employed a helicopter to help locate the pizza truck, which had 40 pizzas inside.

The truck was stolen from the pizza shop, located at 2843 W. 63rd Street, at about 1 p.m. while the driver went back into the store to grab some sodas, according to the shop manager.

The manager suspects the man, who is described as having tattoos on his face, was stalking the truck.

Waukegan police said the pizza truck was ditched in the 600-block of North Avenue in Waukegan. A ground search was terminated and everything has been turned over to Chicago police, a Waukegan official said.
