Police investigate arson at Gary high school

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- Gary police are investigating an arson that occurred this week at a high school.

In a statement, police said Friday that the fire took place at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday at West Side Leadership Academy, located at West 9th Avenue and Gerry Street.

The school was previously known as West Side High School.

There were people in the building at the time, but no one was injured, police said.
