CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pair of big names will get next month's Department of Defense Warrior Games in Chicago off to a rocking start.
Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson will both perform during the opening ceremony for the Warrior Games at Soldier Field on July 1. Shelton and Clarkson, both Grammy-award winners, will join comedian Jon Stewart who will serve as master of ceremonies for the games.
Tickets for the DoD Warrior Games opening ceremony concert will be available online through Ticketmaster. Tickets went on sale to the general public on Tuesday, June 6 at 9 a.m. CST.

The Warrior Games features about 265 wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans will represent teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), as well as the United Kingdom Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force.
The athletes will compete in eight adaptive sports including archery, cycling, field, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track and wheelchair basketball.
The games run June 30 through July 8 at various locations around Chicago, including McCormick Place, the United Center and Solider Field. Admission at most venues will be free.

The DoD Warrior Games started in 2010. The U.S. Navy and City of Chicago are co-hosting the 2017 DoD Warrior Games. This year's games will be the first to be held outside of a military installation or U.S. Olympic Training Center.
