Work begins to improve Daley Center security

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The east lobby of the Daley Center is now closed as construction to improve security gets underway. Next week, the west lobby will be closed.

The project includes installation of automated security turnstiles. Authorized cardholders will be able to tap their ID cards for entry.

The project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The work should be done by July 1.
