New hotel planned for O'Hare airport

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago is ready to move ahead with plans for a new hotel at O'Hare International Airport.

The Aviation Department said Wednesday they are looking for proposals for a new facility next to Terminal 5.

The city also wants to renovate and modernize the existing O'Hare Hilton.

The city wants the facility to accommodate large-scale trade shows and other events, as well as offer upscale restaurants and boutiques.

Developers have until Jan. 18, 2017 to submit their plans.
