CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man who's been captaining boats for seven decades will head back out on Lake Michigan Saturday.

Ed stein is 99 years old and will serve as skipper of a boat in the Leukemia Cup regatta.

Stein has been an inspiration to young water lovers in the Chicago area, serving as leader of the Sea Scouts organization for 40 years. He says his love of boats started at an early age.

You can see Stein and the rest of the boats launch from Monroe Harbor Saturday. The race begins at noon.
