PARK RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Park Ridge police say they've arrested an alleged serial "cat burglar."

Alfonso Vega, 36, was arrested in connection with a series of residential burglaries that occurred between Nov. 10-29. Police say Vega allegedly entered homes in the early morning hours while the homeowners were asleep and stole purses, credit cards, computers and other electronics. Investigators are also linking the Evanston man to at least two other burglaries.

In most cases, police say he got in through garage service doors that were left open or unlocked.

Vega faces two counts of residential burglary.
