ABC7 Reporter Paul Meincke retires after 30 years

CHICAGO -- A fond farewell to one of Chicago's best storytellers. ABC7 reporter Paul Meincke is retiring after 30 years.

While he was the first on the scene for some of the city's hard-hitting stories, his favorites were the ones that touched lives: profiles on extraordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Meincke plans to spend the next couple of months with his family, traveling the U.S. by bike, train and canoe. After that, he'll return to ABC7 as a contributor.
