Pedestrian hit by Chicago police vehicle

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pedestrian was seriously hurt after being hit by a Chicago police vehicle.

It happened outside of the 47th Street red line station.

The 26-year-old man was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

A viewer sent ABC7 cellphone video following the crash. It shows paramedics tending to a person on a stretcher.
