CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police say two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle fleeing police in East Garfield Park Tuesday evening.
Police say the two victims were struck near South Homan Avenue and West 5th Avenue around 6:45 p.m. A 72-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. The woman suffered an injury to her ankle and a laceration to her head; the man suffered bruising to his leg and shoulder.
The female victim was identified by her daughter as Margaret Ward.
Police said one offender is in custody. Charges are pending.
