CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 16-year-old girl has been charged in robbing two women while riding on a CTA Pink Line train earlier this month, Chicago police said.

On May 4 at about 1:30 p.m., police said the suspect approached a 19-year-old woman, grabbed a cell phone from the victim's hands and fled the scene.

The suspect robbed a second woman on May 8 at about 9:20 p.m., police said. The 20-year-old victim was exiting the train when the suspect took the victim's cell phone, struck her and sprayed her with pepper spray before fleeing the scene, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody on Monday and spat on an officer during processing, police said. She has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated battery of a peace officer.
