Police investigating body found in garbage on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating after a body was found in garbage in the city's Morgan Park neighborhood Monday.

Police said they received a call about a female of unknown age discovered unresponsive in the 10800-block of South Prospect Avenue Monday afternoon.

No further details about the female have been released, and the circumstances of her death are currently unknown.

Area South detectives are conducting a death investigation.

The Cook County medical examiner's office hasn't confirmed the fatality or ruled on the cause or manner of the woman's death.
