LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- Three U.S. Postal Service trucks were involved in a crash Saturday morning in LaPorte County on U.S. Route 20 near Fail Road, sheriff officials said.
Authorities said the driver of a Black Nissan Maxima was allegedly intoxicated and driving recklessly when he crashed into the postal trucks. The trucks were part of a seven-vehicle caravan headed westbound. One of the trucks was forced off the road onto a field. None of the trucks were carrying mail.
The driver of a red Chevy, traveling eastbound, then slammed into those vehicles.
The Nissan driver was critically injured.
The others are OK.
