2 men charged after armed robbery, sexual abuse at Morton Grove hotel, police say

MORTON GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- Two men are facing multiple charges after police say a robbery at a hotel in the north suburbs turned violent.

Investigators said the armed robbery happened at the Red Roof Inn on Waukegan Road in Morton Grove Saturday night.

Police said two men forced their way into a hotel room, demanding money at gunpoint.

One shot was fired, but no one was hurt, police said. The two men fled the scene with stolen property.

The suspects were later tracked down and taken into custody in the 8100 block of Ridgewood in Chicago.

Manuel Antonio Pimentel-Rodriguez is charged with attempted murder, home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Jorvin J. Gil Duran is charged with home invasion and armed robbery.

Both suspects are expected to appear in court Monday.
