A pedestrian was trapped under a car after a crash in a north suburban parking lot Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
A pedestrian in his 70s was killed in the north suburbs on Thursday morning. Police confirmed the suspected SUV involved in the crash was abandoned just two blocks away from where the victim was struck and killed.

Witnesses told ABC7 an Amtrak train collided with a car stuck on the tracks moments after a group of good Samaritans helped the driver get out of his vehicle. When police responded to the scene, the driver ended up in custody.
Two cars crashed Thursday evening in the north suburbs, leading to one of them going onto train tracks. The driver was able to escape before an Amtrak train hit the vehicle, and he was arrested for DUI, police said.
