Man found shot to death inside vehicle in Auburn Gresham, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle on the South Side on Friday night, Chicago police said.

Officers responded to the Auburn Gresham neighborhood's 8800-block of South Lowe Avenue for a call about a shooting just after 10 p.m.

There, officers found a 37-year-old man, who had suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest, inside of a vehicle.

Police said the victim was transported to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe multiple male offenders may have shot the man before fleeing the scene on foot.

There is no one in custody, and Area Two detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
