62-year-old woman hit, killed by vehicle in Irving Park, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle Saturday on the city's Northwest Side.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Belmont Avenue in Irving Park, Chicago police said.

A 62-year-old woman was walking when she was hit by a Nissan driven by a 35-year-old woman, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, CPD said. Her name has not yet been released.

No further information about the fatal crash was immediately available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
