Trees knocked down amid high winds in Chicago area

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Wet and windy conditions made their way to parts of the Chicago area on Tuesday.

A large tree was blown down in Lincolnwood near the corner of Kedvale and Pratt.

Over in Glen Ellyn a tree was also knocked down, blocking a road.

A cold front brought high winds and cooler temperatures into the area on Tuesday.

Meteorologist Larry Mowry said we the windy conditions would stick in the area through this evening.

Some showers were also expected during the evening commute.
