Death of 2-month-old boy in Plainfield ruled homicide

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- The Will County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a two-month-old boy.

The boy was found with multiple critical injuries around 5:53 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 14100 block of Lehigh Drive in Plainfield, officials said.

The baby was rushed to Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago, where he later died.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the boy's death a homicide. He was identified as Maverick Rowe.

An autopsy is pending, officials said.
