Police chased vehicle from North Chicago to Logan Square; at least 2 arrested
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A suspected armed kidnapping in North Chicago ended with a crash on Chicago's Northwest Side Monday night, police said.
North Chicago police responded just before 10:30 p.m. to a report of a female caller on foot, who was being chased by her boyfriend in a gray 2010 Mazda sedan. The boyfriend was possibly armed with a gun, police said.
Police could not find the caller, but saw the Mazda drive away.
The caller's phone appeared to ping from the Mazda, and, fearing a potential kidnapping, police followed the vehicle onto southbound Interstate 94.
Illinois State Police said at about 10:44 p.m. they spotted the car speeding south on I-94 near Dundee Road and Northbrook.
