Metra testing out new Café Car this fall with free snacks, drinks for riders

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Metra will be testing out a Café Car this fall.

The prototype will make its debut on the Rock Island line next Tuesday.

Inside the car, there will be stools, booths, and tables instead of a second level.

During morning and evening rush hours, free snacks and drinks will be given to riders who complete a survey.

Here is the schedule of the car, Metra said the schedules could change:

-Rock Island from September 30 to October 6.

-BNSF the week of October 13.

-Milwaukee District North the week of October 20.

-Milwaukee District West the week of October 27.

-Union Pacific North the week of November 3.

-Union Pacific Northwest the week of November 10.

-Union Pacific West on November 17.
