CHICAGO (WLS) -- The NBA Draft is getting underway on Tuesday night in New York City.
The Chicago Bulls are looking to jumpstart their rebuilding effort with two First Round picks this year.
We are still getting to know Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham and new Head Coach Tiago Splitter, so Tuesday will teach us a lot about their approach to rebuilding.
But there is no question that they need players who can make an impact, and with two picks in the top 15, starting at fourth overall, that seems inevitable.
And as the stage was set at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, buzz continued around the Bucks' trade of Giannis Atentakumpo to Miami late Monday night.
The move altered competition in the division, but not mock draft speculation, where the Bulls are said to be among the many with high interest in Duke's Cam Boozer, the son of former Bull Carlos Boozer.
But they have long been tagged to take Carolina big man Caleb Wilson, whose only pre-draft visit was with the Bulls and Splitter last week, and apparently, Chicago is his ideal landing spot.
He is expected to be available when the Bulls are on the clock after the Wizards pick at one, followed by Utah and Memphis. And, then the Clippers will follow the Bulls at fifth overall.
The Bulls will then be on the clock again at pick 15, which, this year, is a good thing. This draft class has been called historically deep with plenty of talent to be had. That is a good thing for the Bulls, as they are a lottery team for a reason.
Graham made his first trade as vice president, acquiring center Nic Claxton from Brooklyn on Monday night as part of a three-team trade that brings a starter at a good price, which is a strong start.
Draft night tips off at 7 p.m.
