CHICAGO (WLS) -- Many residents of Puerto Rico are desperate to get off the island.
Some airlines capped prices right after the hurricane, but that is over.
Now some are troubled that airline prices may be too much.
Hundreds of Puerto Rican evacuees have been through The Hurricane Relief center since it opened in Humboldt Park last week.
David Quiles flew to Puerto Rico in order to bring back his aunt, grandparents and cousin to Chicago. He says it took hours to negotiate airline ticket prices and only got a decent fare with a seven-hour, overnight layover.
"It's not right, it shouldn't be right," said Abilda Gonzalez.
Odalys Cano brought her mother back to Chicago with a ticket she says that was twice the normal cost.
"They need to make it easier and more economical for people to travel," she said.
