CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman found an abandoned 3-ft. python in her apartment on Chicago's South Side.
She called police for help around 10:05 p.m. Monday, after she found the snake in her home in the 6500-block of South Normal Avenue in the city's Englewood neighborhood. Police said the woman was not hurt.
A Chicago Animal Care and Control official said Tuesday that a team helped officers capture the Ball Python, which had found its way into the woman's apartment from a neighboring residence.
CACC impounded the snake and will transfer it to the Chicago Herpetological Society for care. Anyone interested in adopting the python can find out more at chicagoherp.org.
