OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) -- A coach at Richards High School in suburban Oak Lawn has been accused of taking cellphone pictures of a student changing in the girls' locker room area, police said.

Raymond Van Syckle, 31, is charged with unauthorized video recording after police obtained and served a search warrant on his cellphone.

Police say the warrant was obtained after a student told school officials that she thought a cellphone was taking photos of her while she was changing clothes in the girl's locker room on Oct. 30.

Van Syckle is a popular girls' varsity volleyball coach and also the pool and equipment manager. Michelle Gonzalez has a daughter on the swim team.

"She changes in the locker room daily, so it's disturbing and it's scary that something like this would happen," Gonzalez said.

Vansyckle was taken into custody on Sunday and charged on Monday. His bond was set at $75,000 at a court hearing Tuesday.

"The employee has been directed to not enter upon any of Community High School District 218's campuses," Richards High School officials said in a statement Wednesday.

Oak Lawn police and Richards High School are asking any students with information to contact school administrators.
