Program to rehab vacant Cook County homes

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A program to rehab vacant homes across Cook County is being touted as a way to fuel economic growth and neighborhood revitalization.

It's a partnership between the Cook County Land Bank and the Private Bank, which will provide up to $10 million to buy and repair the houses.

Homeowners will have to meet certain income requirements. The house will have to be their primary residence.

The program will launch September 1.
