Gov. Rauner pardons man wrongfully convicted for knife attack

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Governor Bruce Rauner has pardoned a man who spent seven years in prison for a violent crime he didn't commit.

In 1997, Robert Wilson confessed to using a box cutter to attack a woman at a South Side Chicago bus stop. At his trial, Wilson said police coerced that confession.

Years later, the victim said she was no longer sure Wilson was her attacker and Wilson was declared innocent.
