A research team captured incredible, albeit gruesome, footage of a great white shark feasting on the remains of a grey seal in the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge waters, off the coast of Massachusetts.
Dr. Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries recorded video of the event with a GoPro camera on August 8 while on an expedition with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC) to tag sharks. The shark was identified as an 11-foot-long female, first seen last year, according to the AWSC's Facebook post.
