1 dead in South Side shooting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person is dead after a shooting on the city's South Side Tuesday morning.

The victim was shot in the chest in the 7800-block of Coles Avenue in the city's South Shore neighborhood and taken to Christ Hospital.

Police say there have recently been a number of attempted robberies in that area.
