Chicago Police Memorial Foundation taps man in red suit for 'Operation Santa'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation kicked off its "Operation Santa" this weekend.

The police foundation says they mission of "Operation Santa" is to deliver holiday cheer to families of fallen or seriously injured Chicago police officers.

Santa and Mrs. Claus along with their elves helped load gifts into their motorcade at Macy's on State Street Saturday.

The foundation plans to visit 19 families by the end of the weekend.
