Eyewitness to History: USS Abraham Lincoln

Twenty-five years ago this week a nuclear powered aircraft carrier was commissioned honoring Illinois' favorite son. The USS Abraham Lincoln began a world tour that continues to this day.

The ship is currently undergoing a major overhaul that will modernize and extend the Lincoln's life another 25 years.
