CHICAGO (WLS) -- A giant letter to Santa delivers a message of love and compassion in the Edgewater neighborhood on Chicago's North Side.
Caro d'Offay and her partner Laura Gilmore came up with the idea after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary.
Each year, the display features letters exchanged between a fictional boy named Bobby and Santa. They discuss topics such as bullying and violence.
d'Offay says she's trying to appeal to the inherent compassion in people and create an uplifting message.
