Police issue alert after 4 women robbed in South Loop

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have issued an alert for the city's South Loop neighborhood after four women were robbed, police say.

Police say a male offender allegedly knocked the victims to the ground from behind, taking their cell phone or purse.

Incidents were reported at the following locations:

1500-block of S. Wabash on Jan. 13 around 9:12 p.m.

1500-block of S. Indiana on Jan. 16 around 10:30 p.m.

1900-block of S. Indiana on Jan. 23 around 7:28 p.m.

1600-block of S. Prairie on Jan. 27 around 8:12 p.m.

The offender is described as a male between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 weighing between 150-200 pounds, police said. In two incidents, the offender was described as African American between 18-20 years old or 30-35 years old.

None of the victims were seriously injured. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Chicago police at 312-747-8384.
