Police release suspect photos in pair of South Shore murders
Police have released surveillance photos of suspects they believe are involved in two unsolved South Shore murders.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police have released surveillance photos of two suspects they believe were involved in a pair of 2013 South Shore murders.

Nearly six months after the incidents, investigators have yet to hear any tips leading to the arrest of suspects in the case. The incidents occurred three blocks away from each other in the same half hour.

Police said two men allegedly approached Willie Cooper, a 74-year-old retired CTA bus driver and church deacon, on Dec. 19, 2013. They allegedly attempted to rob him while he was sitting in his car, shot him and ran off, officials said. Later that morning, what's believed to be the same two suspects allegedly approached 41-year-old Eric Davis, a blues guitar player in his car, attempted to rob him and shot him to death, police said.

Family members are hoping someone steps up and comes forward with information leading to an arrest.

"I'm more frustrated because there are individuals who do know what happened, and this type of crime just doesn't go on and someone doesn't speak about it," said Mamie Washington, Eric Davis' fiance. "So I'm more frustrated with those individuals that are allowing this to continue and these people not be held accountable."

Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information leading to an arrest.
