Special Olympics underway in Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thousands of athletes participated in the Special Olympics in Chicago Monday.

Fans cheered the track and field competition at Eckersall Stadium.

More than three thousand athletes ages eight-years and older participated this spring.

Events included long jump, shot put and softball throw, and several races.
