ROSELLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Bob Avellini, former quarterback for the Chicago Bears, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for aggravated DUI, prosecutors said.

Avellini, 61, pled guilty to a felony DUI in exchange for the 18-month sentence, DuPage County prosecutors said. In September 2013, Roselle police officers stopped Avellini near his home. His blood alcohol content was almost twice the legal limit and he was in violation of a previous DUI conviction.

Avellini has been arrested six times on DUI charges in 12 years.

He will surrender to prison on December 1.
