5 injured in crash involving police squad car near 87th, Loomis

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three Chicago police officers were rushed to hospitals after their squad car crashed around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said a car hit the police squad near the intersection of 87th and Loomis in the city's Gresham neighborhood. The three officers had to be cut out of their car.

One person in the other vehicle was also hurt, and a firefighter helping the officers suffered a minor injury. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
