Elgin team returns to football field after weed killer mix-up

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A suburban high school football team is returning to its field after a fertilizer/weed killer mix-up.

St. Edward's field in Elgin was severely damaged when weed killer was used by mistake.

Lawn and garden company Scott's donated material to get the field in playing condition.

The team will take the field for senior night Friday and former Chicago Bear Brian Urlacher will give a pep talk.
