Man, 56, stabbed on Near West Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 56-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed on the city's Near West Side, police say.

Police say the man and a 31-year-old woman were engaged in an argument in the 1500-block of West Monroe Saturday morning around 10:40 a.m. when the stabbing took place.

The man suffered lacerations to his head, face and left hand and was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

The offender has been apprehended and charges are pending.
