Casting Director shares tips on how to get cast on 'The Bachelor'
Lacey Pemberton shares tips on what she and other casting directors look for with "The Bachelor".

NEW YORK -- Hundreds of women - and even a few men - showed up to a casting call for ABC's "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" in New York City on Thursday evening. The hopefuls lined the street, hoping to catch the eye of a casting director to get their shot at love and maybe even their very own "happily ever after".

Most of the women were from the New York City area, but there were quite a few who traveled from all around the country. One woman we spoke to said it was her fourth try at a "Bachelor" casting call!

While some may be looking for fame, one thing was for sure; most of the people there were truly looking for love and were there for the "right reasons."

Why Come Out for the Casting Call?

Casting Director Lacey Pemberton shared her tips on how to stand out from the crowd and get noticed. Her biggest piece of advice, as cliche as it might sound, was to just be yourself. You'd be surprised at how many people have a hard time doing just that, especially once the cameras are rolling!

Pemberton says that whether it is at a casting event, or an online application, she looks at every single video that comes across her desk. "It's the least I could do," Pemberton said, in someone's quest for love.

She takes great pride in the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" success stories, and gushed when she talked about how some of the couples have even gone on to have families.

The competition is stiff, but one of the hopefuls we spoke to could be on your TV in just a few months, vying against 25 other women or men for a shot at love. After all, getting cast is just the first step in this fiercely competitive game of love.
