An engineer created an impressive, high tech replica of Thor's hammer that is truly worthy.

Utilizing electromagnets and a fingerprint scanner, Allen Pan built an awesome version of Mjolnir, the hammer wielded by the Norse god Thor. Just like in the Marvel universe where Thor is one of very few people who can lift the powerful weapon, Pan is the only one "worthy" of handling his Mjolnir, thanks to the hidden thumbprint sensor. The engineer says he was inspired by the iconic scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron where members of the super hero team tried and failed to pick up the hammer.

"I wanted to see if I could make Mjolnir along those lines, especially since in the Marvel movies Thor and Asgard and all that isn't magical, they're really technologically advanced aliens," Pan told ABC in an email message.

Most of the people who attempted to lift the hammer were frustrated that they didn't have the necessary might or worth to wield Mjolnir. But two cunning pedestrians weren't fooled by Pan's hammer, with one pointing out the thumbprint scanner or and another moving the weapon so it wasn't resting on metal.

"A lot of people were afraid the hammer was going to shock them or something," Pan told ABC. "It's funny that so many comments on the video are like 'great prank!' cause we fully disclosed what was going on to most of those people, they just still wanted to try to lift it once we told them what was going on and that it was safe."
