Tow truck driver shoots alleged attempted robber in South Austin

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A tow truck driver shot and wounded a man who allegedly tried to rob him, police said.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in the 100-block of North Leamington Avenue in Chicago's South Austin neighborhood.

The driver said that four individuals attempted to rob the driver who then pulled out a gun. The other individual ran away, but one person was injured by the driver.

The injured man was hospitalized in good condition.

The driver does have a conceal carry license.
