CHICAGO (WLS) -- Local lanes on the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway remain closed after a semi-trailer crashed into a wall near 31st Street Friday morning.
The crash occurred at 2:10 a.m. near 31st Street as the semi-trailer created a hole in the center median wall at the entrance to the local and express lanes. All outbound traffic is being diverted into the express lanes.

Illinois State Police said traffic will continue to be diverted to the express lanes possibly until the afternoon Friday.
Outbound motorists from downtown will not be able to exit the Dan Ryan Expressway between the Stevenson Expressway and Garfield Boulevard. Motorists who want to use exits between 31st and 47th streets will need to exit at Garfield and then use the inbound Dan Ryan.
The right two lanes of the elevated outbound Dan Ryan will be closed between Cermak Road and 22nd Street. The two right lanes are open.
The right lane is closed on the outbound Chinatown Feeder ramp with access to the Dan Ryan local lanes closed and traffic directed to the express lanes. The ramp from the inbound Stevenson to the outbound Dan Ryan is closed.
