14 hospitalized after school bus crash on NB Dan Ryan at 87th Street

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A school bus and three other vehicles were involved in a crash on the northbound Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) at 87th Street just before 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Illinois State Police said six children and eight adults were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, mainly as a precaution.

The accident shut down all northbound lanes for about an hour Monday morning. Once emergency crews were able to clear the crash and tow the bus away, the lanes re-opened to traffic.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
